SHADOW OF A DOUBT

The expression of a silent loss
in extreme reticence.
Directed
and focused,
into a look of intensity.
It was the stealing away of purpose.
The fleeting of thought.
A doubt
of diminished expectations.
The notion
that a decision had to be made,
and you
questioned the action
for just one moment.
A thought long enough
to silence my music forever.
